What to Expect in Class

Never taken a CPR class before? Here's exactly what happens from the moment you book to the moment you leave certified.

01
Before Class

Book online or call. You'll get a confirmation email with the address, start time, and what to bring. No studying required — everything is taught in class from scratch.

02
What to Wear & Bring

Wear comfortable clothes you can kneel in. Bring nothing else — all materials, manikins, and equipment are provided. Just show up.

03
During Class

Classes start with a brief video, then immediately go hands-on. You'll practice compressions, rescue breaths, choking relief, and AED operation on feedback manikins. BLS includes a short written test — no need to study, everything is covered in class. Heartsaver courses require a hands-on skills session only, no written test.

04
Skills Check & Cert

At the end, Shai evaluates your technique one-on-one. It's not a pass/fail exam — she works with you until you've got it right. Your AHA eCard arrives by email the same day.

The Real Difference

Before Class vs. After Class

This is why we don't just hand out cards. We train for the real moment.

Before — Most People
😰
Freeze when they see someone collapse — don't know what to do first
📱
Pull out their phone to look up CPR instructions while precious seconds pass
😟
Worry about doing it wrong — so they don't do anything at all
Unsure how to use an AED even though one is right on the wall
👶
Have no idea infant CPR is completely different from adult CPR
After Critical Compressions
💪
Know exactly what to do in the first 30 seconds — no hesitation
🫀
Can perform high-quality compressions with correct depth and rate — confirmed by feedback manikins
Confident acting alone or directing bystanders while waiting for EMS
Can set up and operate an AED in under 60 seconds
👶
Know the specific technique differences for infants, children, and adults

Common Questions

Everything You Want to Know

Do I need any experience to take a class?

None at all. Classes are designed from the ground up to teach everyone — whether you've never done CPR or you're renewing for the tenth time. Shai starts from the basics and works with every student individually.

What if I don't pass the skills check?

Shai doesn't move on until you've got it right. If you need extra time on a technique, you get it. No one leaves without being genuinely certified — not just technically signed off.

Is there a written test?

BLS (healthcare providers) includes a short written test at the end — everything is covered in class, no outside studying needed. Heartsaver CPR and all other non-healthcare courses require a hands-on skills session only, no written test. Everyone leaves certified.

How do I receive my certification card?

Your official AHA eCard is emailed to you the same day you complete class. It's a digital card you can share with your employer immediately. It's also stored in the AHA system so it can be verified at any time.

Can you come to our location?

Yes — for groups of 5 or more. Shai brings all equipment: manikins, AED trainers, course materials, everything. You just provide a space where people can kneel (a conference room, break room, or open floor area works perfectly).

What's the difference between BLS and Heartsaver?

BLS (Basic Life Support) is for healthcare providers — nurses, EMTs, dental staff — and meets hospital credentialing standards. Heartsaver is for everyone else — coaches, daycare workers, office employees, general public. Both are AHA certified and accepted by all NC employers.

How long is the certification valid?

All AHA certifications are valid for 2 years. Shai tracks your expiration date and will reach out 6 months before it expires so you never find yourself out of compliance.

What is your cancellation policy?

You can reschedule your class for free with 48 hours notice — just call or text. Cancellations with less than 48 hours notice may not be eligible for a refund. For corporate bookings, contact Shai directly to discuss your situation.

Ready to Get Started?

Book online in under 3 minutes, or call Shai directly. Either way, you'll be certified before the week is out.
